APC Back-UPS 1500

I needed another UPS device for a new home project I am planning & implementing in addition to the ones I already have. I went back to the local Office Depot to see what they had available. I expected a new model and I wasn't disappointed.

APC has the Back-UPS 1500 which is very similar to the older model. It has the same number of outlets (10), but it is smaller.

What I really like about this model is the addition of 2 USB ports (one is the new USB-C) in front for charging (5V at 3A).

Other than these 2 changes, they're basically the same. The new model offers sinewave output which I don't believe the previous model had. I have no idea what this new technology offers, but it sounds good.

I've had this device installed for over a week now and it has performed exactly as expected.

One evening I walked into my dark office, and I noticed a red light reflecting on the wall behind the device. It was the "wiring fault" light. It turns out that one of the switches I recently replaced wasn't grounded properly. The warning light went off as soon as I fixed the wiring problem.

I'm very happy with the APC Back-UPS 1500.
