The Wild, Wild Internet

I was the IT support for my friends for a very long time. I can't remember how many times I had to rebuild my friends' computers because of viruses.

I'll share the advice I gave them.

Most people don't need a computer these days. All they do is check their email and browse the Internet. Some may access their favorite social media and do some minor photo editing. My advice to these people is to get an iPad and not to worry about viruses.

They better follow this advice because I also informed them that I was no longer going to be their IT support. I was retiring.

I never check my email on any of my computers. I only use my iPhone to open and read my emails.

I just got a new computer, but I never use it to browse the Internet. None of my other computers can access anything on it. And I have an old computer which is the only computer I use to browse the Internet.

My wife also has a laptop which she never uses except for one thing. She uses her iPhone and iPad for everything else.

That's my advice.
