Of all the things we wish to have happen in our lives, having good health is the one we wish for most. Money, business success, good friends, and a loving spouse, are all things we want in our lives, and surely they will make us happy if we get them, but without good health, we cannot experience the full richness of what any of these can mean to us. So above all we need good health.

Although there is good health information available everywhere, the percentage of people experiencing amazing health has remained stagnant. This is almost totally because of lifestyle. We live lifestyles that cause us to not be healthy. We work too hard, we don't eat right or get enough rest, and we have way too much stress in our lives. The negative effects are well documented. Poor health, reduced mental function, debilitating diseases and even premature death.  So the reasons to live healthy not only brings you great benefits, it also steers you away from negative consequences. Here is how you lead a healthy lifestyle.

Take the Available Advice That is Proven to Work

There is a new exercise, eating, or stress management program that comes around every other week promising you an amazingly healthy life. The majority of them are written by people that do not understand how the body works, or the correct approach in order to bring you to your best health. If you look beyond the elegant names, alluring videos, overstated endorsements, and attractive before and after pictures, you will usually find reworked versions of the same programs that you tried before and had little or no results.

You should listen to professionals who understand not just the issues you have regarding your health, but the fundamental reasons for why you have these issues. As an example, we all know that excessive weight gain is a health problem. But the reasons for excessive weight gain, are the actual problem that needs to be addressed.

The right expert will get you to focus on the primary problems in order to solve weight gain issues. In other words, the right expert will get you to work on your wellness, through a wellness program in order to correct the issues you have with your overall health.

Do These Things All the Time

We all need programs to help us move from unhealthy to healthy. And there are some good ones around. How can you tell a good one? Every good health program will consist of the same four critical elements.

Regular Exercise - You will be instructed to exercise at a level that will raise your heart rate at least 80% above normal for at least 150 minutes every week. You will be asked to also do strength training to strengthen your muscles, tendons and ligaments. The types of exercises you do may vary, but what is important is that they accomplish these two things.

Focus on Stress Management – Stress must be limited because of its ill effects, so you will be told to and even given ways to reduce stress.

Good Sleep – There is no substitute for good sleep, so you will be told to make sure that you must always get at least 7 to 8 hours of good sleep every night.

Any good health program that does not cover these four irreplaceable areas of your health is not one you should pursue.
