Cold Steel Machetes

This is a review of Cold Steel's All Terrain Chopper (97TMSTS) and Latin Machete Plus (97AM24DS).

The machete has proven to be the ultimate outdoor and survival tool.

Both blades are made out of 1055 Carbon Steel and are dipped in a special anti-rust solution before having a black, baked-on finish applied. And both also come with a Cor-Ex™ sheath.

The All Terrain Chopper has a 21 1/2" blade that is 2.8mm thick and an overall length of 30 1/2". It is heavy with a weight of 36.2 ounces. It is definitely a two-handed machete with a handle of 9".

It will cut, chop, slash, or smash just about anything you can put in front of it.

I can believe it.

The Latin Machete Plus is more traditional and much lighter. It can be easily handled with just one hand. It weighs 18.8 ounces. The blade is 24" long that is 2mm thick and an overall length of 29 5/8". The handle is 5 5/8" polypropylene.

I'm happy to have purchased both. I don't really have an immediate use for either, but it feels good to own both for preparedness. I'll probably get each one of my three sons one.
