Jim Sterling Doesn't Understand The Backlash Towards Virginia.

In the latest Jimquisition from our very own Agent 47 stone, Jim 'Fuckin' Sterling Son, a man whom claimed to not know what a Social Justice Warrior even is, nor does he care about it enough to find out, is here yet again talking about a subject he knows fuck all about but then he goes on to tell us all about it.

Jim is claiming that the recent outrage regarding an Indie title called Virginia, (an outrage I must point out that I have heard from only ONE source and that is Jim Sterling), has anti-SJW people immediately dismissing it on the grounds that it is an SJW game and the reasons for it being such a game... *dun dun dun* ...It has a black woman as the protagonist. Oh won't someone please think of the children. Who cares!?

Is the game good, that's all most people will care about?

While I slightly agree with Jim here, with this idea that so many people are so against SJWs, they cannot see past it and are assuming if a game has either a female, black or both protagonist, instantly makes it an SJW game is ludicrous. What I do disagree with is his reasoning as to WHY?

To me it is an irrelevant issue what the character's race or sex is but I can see why some would think that. Sure some can't see past it because of their hatred of being spoon fed PC like it must be a mandatory part of their diet. Is that really all their own doing? So yes I do believe this is a problem, when you see so people commenting about games on Steam/Forums and how they are not going to buy & play something because it has 'X' in it or 'Y' is in another, which appears to be crammed in just for the sake of political correctness.  I agree with his point, however...

Jim doesn't just call that out for what it is or what it is doing and be done with it, no he has to go that one step further, declaring that Anti-SJWs/Anti-PC people hate certain games simply because they have women in them. Such absolute nonsense.    This is a quote from said video, from Jim himself, which began quite well but quickly goes down hill from there...

"If you start seeing political agendas when they're not there. The ONLY conclusion one can reasonably draw is that, YOU are the one doing the shoehorning, you are the one with the overwhelming political agenda, that you can't keep control of and if this is all sparked by a woman lead in a game, then well maybe examine what it is YOU find so distasteful about women being allowed to be in a game."

BOLLOCKS!

That is just a wee snippet of the sheer brilliance from such a stunning and brave man, defending the womans against a straw man he himself built, trust me when I say, that what he says next, only gets even more redundant. Let's just ignore the other instances of female protagonists, using Lara Croft for an easy example, that nobody EVER has had any issue with but nope, it is because it has a woman in it. Jim knows, oh yes Jim knows.

It is NOT women in games that are the issue here, it is the policing of speech, the demands for diversity, even when it doesn't make any sense. The feels over reals mentality. That's what many people have issue with. Even though Jim is correct to say, to assume it is an SJW GAME is silly, just because it has a woman in it but he is also so so wrong, that the reasons as to why people are saying these things is due to it being women leads.

The issue is simply with Social Justice itself.

Social Justice Warriors were the ones demanding to put women in games now, (even though there already was) This paranoia has not stemmed from misogyny, it is just a symptom of that SJW mentality. Nobody has had any issues with new ips with female leads in the past. It is just some have assumed that it is an SJW game now, as it has a black woman protagonist, even if they are wrong, at first glance I can see why they'd think that. I wouldn't dismiss the game for that but I can understand why someone could make that assumption. Where as 10 years ago they would not have even likely considered it.

Nobody had issue with Lara Croft in Tomb Raider in 1996 or with C.J. in GTA: San Andreas in 2004. Social Justice has caused this, not an influx of racism and misogyny. Yet now Mafia III is on the horizon, some have said they don't want to play it as it is pandering to SJWs. I disagree with that but again I can see their point of view.

Finally, I do not believe there was this "Backlash," For Virgina, at least not in the manner of what he is describing it as. I do believe however, that Jim has cherry picked a few comments from somewhere, just so he could make a video to stir up people with his own agenda. It could be just Jim virtue signalling or maybe he is saying it for some more of that delicious Patreon Dough, like some others have been known to do *wink*. I must stress though, I do not know this but then I am only willing to put in the same effort Jim Sterling did in finding out what the subject of the discussion's point of view actually is... As in none, none at all.

We can all make assumptions with our already established biases Jimmy. I just think it is lazy and disgusting.   Nobody cared about these things and we were all the better for it. Now it is the main focus of so much stuff and it is Social Justice's PC demands that has made people wary of such things, not the people themselves that are to blame.

So should we thank God for Jim Sterling? Absolutely, he reminds me why I disliked biased and dishonest game reviewers in the first place.   Thanks for your time.
