9 Year-Old CEO Starts BeeSweet Lemonade Business in an Effort to Save the Honey Bees
9 year old Mikaila Ulmer created BeeSweet Lemonade, a lemonade made with mint, flaxseed and honey, inspired by her grandmother's recipe, and turned it into a full fledged business, giving 20% of all profits to organizations that are working to protect honeybees.
She started the business when she was 4 and is a voice of a generation of young entrepreneurs dedicated to saving the earth through spreading awareness and promoting good products.
On her website, she describes how she got into the business. “I didn’t enjoy the bee stings at all. They scared me. But then something strange happened. I became fascinated with bees. I learned all about what they do for me and our ecosystem. So then I thought, what if I make something that helps honeybees and uses my Great Granny Helen’s recipe?” The product is sold at Whole Foods and other surround health food stores in Austin, Texas.
Mikaila is a voice of reason and an example that age does not define our potential.
