Renaissance vs Entropy

I woke up with this very clear and profound thought this morning.

"Either humanity awakens on the other side of this to a Renaissance of life or we lose ourselves within the twilight of our entropy"

I get these from time to time.  These little spontaneous thoughts and wisdom.

To be honest, I wasn't exactly sure what entropy meant so I had to look it up.

Entropy:  "Turning towards transformation"....(then my I read on with dismay) "with that transformation being chaos"

That didn't sound good at all.

I had a pretty good idea of what renaissance meant but I thought its definition might lend a more positive interpretation of this morning's thought.

Renaissance - French word meaning “rebirth”

Interesting dichotomy but then again maybe not.  Maybe they are more connected.

My mind started to reflect on this deeper.  "With so much chaos and worry going on and being experienced worldwide, I could easily come to the conclusion that the world is going down very quickly in so many moral and ethical ways."

There does seem to be a diversion in thought, however...?  I much prefer happy endings.  This has to have a happy ending!

Many consider these times likened to the Dark Ages....the precursor to a time of enlightenment and creative expression. Could that be?!

Do we require entropy in order to reach enlightenment? Or is entropy a means to an end...like any other disproportionate tug of war eventually leading to its own dissoluteness in order for an entirely new life (not rebirth) to emerge?

And maybe that is the choice we have on the horizon.....A rebirth or the dissolution of the old that humanity is familiar with.  Perhaps, in order to transform ourselves into a more sustainable and enlightened society, we are being asked to make room for new life to emerge.  Just as one season makes way for the next.

I know for me, I have grabbed onto the lightning rod that is the beauty of human potential and it has moved me to tears.  Unlike the fatalists that feel and think humanity is too far gone and incapable of ever becoming more, I tend to think humanity hasn't even begun to realize it's full potential.

I would much rather see humanity enlightened - after all, we've been around for a long time.  Rather than tearing humanity down, build it up!
