What is this good news?
God sent Jesus Christ into the world, and He lived a perfect and sinless life. He was rejected by men and put on a cross. He went to the cross willingly so He could take the wrath of God which we all deserve justly for our sins. But Jesus did not stay dead. But three days later God rose Jesus Christ from the dead defeating death. He ascended to Heaven and sat at the right hand of God the Father and all authority has been given to Him! He offers everlasting life if you repent, which means to turn from your sins and to trust in Jesus Christ alone and believe in what He did on the cross for you. He will change you and make you more like Himself. He will give you a heart that desires to obey Him and to love Him.
(John 3:16, Matthew 27:45-66, Matthew 28, 1John 4:10, Romans 5:10, Romans 10:9)
Why do we need Jesus?
You are dead in sin. Because Adam and Eve rebelled against God we are born with a sinful
Nature. We do not want to obey God. We lie, steal, take God’s name in vain which is blasphemy, dishonor our parents, Jesus said “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
(Exodus 20, Matthew 5:27-28)
We deserve Hell
Because of our rebellion against God we deserve Hell. God is a just judge. He will not let every sin go unpunished. God’s wrath is coming against those who have sinned against Him.
(1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Romans 1:18, John 3:18, John 3:36)
What must we do to be saved?
Repent, turn from your sins. Put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone who took the wrath of God which you deserve for the forgiveness of sins and He will give you eternal life. Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus is the only hope to be saved from the wrath of God. Being a good person will not save you, going to church will not save you, nothing you do will give you eternal life. You must repent and trust in Jesus Christ alone.
(Acts 3:17-26, Romans 4:4-6, Matthew 11:28, Matthew 7:21-23)
