A Dragon Meanders Further

Blog post, part 2.

Why were we doing this, again?

Right, because some people think listening to us blather is interesting, and we're desperate for any sort of attention at all.

We're also the sort of people who try to do the Writing Thing, only we haven't done any writing at all lately and this might provide a nice little poke to get the words flowing, again. We hope.

In other news, if anyone was curious as to how we're doing, we're exhausted, we're only just now recovering from the second bout of flu this month (the doctors were baffled), and we're getting utterly tired of being unable to breathe, or in fact do anything more than sit up for ten minutes. In short, a very unhappy, irritable dragon.

The thing is, there's so much to be doing! Training at the dojo is getting back into full swing. @Wraithreaper22 is (still) weaving an intricate set of plotlines for us to blunder through in the latest Dungeons and Dragons campaign. There is writing to be done, there are jobs to be applied for, there's even...whatever this is, on Minds.

Don't get me wrong, I adore all of you internet othersiders, but social media is just... exhausting. I'm not the sort of person who easily pours their life out onto Facebook, or Instagram, or whatever. I'm much more comfortable with the anonymity behind a keyboard--photos, even when firmly grounded IRL, give me hives. I've been told, quite firmly, to never attempt a selfie again (and I'm not even old, but I certainly feel it, some days).

Which leaves me at a bit of a disadvantage, here. Because, for all that I want to share, and reach out, and network, and solicit donations , there's not much here for me to actually put out, not based on content. Oh, sure, I have a few niche little fanfictions here and there, a short story or two, but that's different, that's--well, something I'm shy about, I suppose.

I can post it all over the internet, with links, but anywhere it gets linked to me, to who I am behind the screen, I get as bashful as a toddler behind their mother's skirts.

Not to mention the particular and peculiar humiliation of telling a friend, colleague, or family member who wishes to read "something I wrote" that most of what I publish is, in fact, queer borderline erotica (ok, not that much erotica. I don't really publish smut much at all, actually, but--look, one of the tags for some of what I do may as well be "torture porn" so... make of that what you will).
