HHeeyyyyy! The blogging feature appears to be working again on Minds! Talk about great news. I had given up and was just posting my painting progress on Facebook. I think I'll give a quick recap of the models I completed along with a some nice group shots. Since I wasn't blogging at the time I didn't take enough pictures of each model to write about in a full blog of their own so "clip notes" will have to do.

Yeah don't expect nice backgrounds either.

You'd think I'd have painted my Herald of Tzneetch with the Pink Horrors to save time. NOPE! He was actually done with pure neon paint. The Horrors were done with dark red and used the pink as a highlight. When you see them in person they don't look much different. Lesson learned!

I kind of wish I had put more colour on the "flame surf board". I don't go back to correct models once I finish them so ce lest vie.

Surprisingly fast to paint!

The Screamers were a blast. Those small teeth are the perfect size to get at. Not overly small so you can "dip" your brush over to get that colour. A little base coat with some wet blends and voila.

You need a side view to see the flames in all their glory.

The Flamers in contrast to the Screamers were some of the worst models I've ever had the displeasure of painting. Highlighting the faces was a pain not only because of the sheer amount of them but the fact they're hidden all over the place. The many colours on the body meant many glazes/wet blends. I tried to wet blend as much as possible and would definitely suggest that over glazing.

Last but not least!

Now obviously the big model is going to be the eye catcher. You might also have read my above post about the Herald and think "Well surely you painted the Screamers here with the ones above!". Wrong....because I completely forgot these. Talk about a mistake!

I dreaded painting this after dealing with the flamers. To my surprise this wasn't a bad model to paint at all. Yeah there are a lot of them but they are all easy. To do the flames themselves I painted over my black primer with Grey Seer. Then just went over a yellow wash/highlights. Honestly it would have been better to have just sucked it up and primed in Grey Seer to begin with.

Hey wait a second...what's all that scenery? I didn't have that before. What could my current painting project be?
