Veni, vidi, vent.

I came, I saw, I complained.

I mentioned my history with sincere Social types that just want to help in the previous blog.  This one will be a bit more boring as there will be articles cited.

If you have been aware of the political landscape in your local area for some time now, it might seem to you that the Left is heading...  Well...  Left.  Far Left.

It's not just you.  This article (https://news.gallup.com/poll/245813/leans-conservative-liberals-keep-recent-gains.aspx) shows that the gap between Left and Right is widening, and has been for quite a few years now.

The theory that the divide might be because of more people identifying themselves as Independent is mentioned near the end of that article.  Which is certainly understandable given that some on the Right are just as authoritarian as some on the Left.  I recommend you listen to several of Raging Golden Eagle's videos on YouTube, as he is a much better commenter of this than I am.

But while both Coasts were widely separated politically, the Midwest used to be far more stable.  Yes there were some Democrats and Republicans that were very outspoken on certain topics, but most everyone understood that those people were the fringe.  There were differences, but mostly concerning fine details, not major policies.

Obviously that is no longer the case.  The Midwest currently seems to be in the same position that California and New York were about 15 years ago.  As for the Coasts, just read these articles, (https://www.dailywire.com/news/42969/limbaugh-were-watching-democratic-party-commit-james-barrett) and (https://www.dailywire.com/news/42974/limbaugh-abortion-extremism-exposing-lefts-moral-david-limbaugh).

Gap, meet Chasm.

I remember becoming annoyed when Environmentalism was the issue of the time.  I was sitting around on the family farm thinking it would not be much of a problem if so many people didn't live in such a small area.  The gap between City Slickers and Country Folk has just widened over time.  And with the widening, the shouting increased.

It has increased to the point that a moderate Democrat, one Howard Schultz, appears to be quite surprised at the reaction he has gotten by throwing his hat into the ring.

I cannot be surprised at this.  Politicians on both sides, but mostly on the Left, have long taken care of each other when they get into trouble with their voters.  This is just more of the same.

I left the Left several years before I moved to Missouri.  But they left me first.

I suppose I shall have to drag out my own little political graph.  If I can get a good free graphics program to work for me long enough to make it.

That's my opinion anyway.  I hope you enjoyed.
