Veni, vidi, vent.
I came, I saw, I complained.

So, I hear that the government is shut down. Quite a few people have been told to not report in to work. Various sources seem to have different numbers, but I am going to run with CNN's numbers in this article: https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/19/politics/congress-shutdown-government-funding-who-is-affected/index.htmlThe important takeaways from that article? Especially as it was written just 5 days ago? Not only the quote, "In the 2013 government shutdown, about 850,000 employees were furloughed each day -- and there could be a similar number this time around."
They don't know how many are staying home. Think about that for a moment.
That was written by CNN. The supposed pinnacle of journalism. By people paid to go investigate stories before publishing them.
But what that article has is an estimate. Not to be a complaining sort, but I can estimate. They ought to investigate before reporting. I'm not a reporter, so I can get away with rough estimates. They should be held to a higher standard.
Eight hundred and fifty thousand people is a LOT of people. That is more than Amazon, Coca Cola, Apple, and Google.
COMBINED.
And yet everything is humming along nicely. I don't see anything breaking down or society collapsing, or people rioting in the streets because the government is shut down.
I guarantee you that if either Amazon or Coke shut down, people would riot. People might spill their soy lattes if Apple or Google shut down, but I personally would be too busy snickering to care.
And there is this: https://www.minds.com/newsfeed/935288783044091904
Sums it up rather nicely in my opinion. Government does not care about us, so why should we care about it?
I mean, do we really expect Occasionally-Cognizant to get a real job? She was a bartender before she was elected to Congress.
The sad part is that Republicans have tried to reopen government but have been completely opposed by the Democrats. If that isn't proof that Democrats do not care about Americans, then nothing is.
That's my opinion anyway. I might be wrong. I hope you enjoyed.
