White male privilege the cause of suicide

I must admit that coming across an article about the findings on the reason for the spike in suicides among white middle aged men, really triggered me. Silvia Sara Canetto a phycology professor’s research determent that the leading cause for the alarming increase is due to white male privilege. According to her research white middle aged males cant handle the fact that other minorities like women and blacks now have the same privileges. So after some research on her its become clear she is an immigrant to America and received various recognitions for her work as a social justice warrior, what a surprise. I don’t really want to go into the statistics around this but in short multiple studies show that 70% of suicides are white middle aged men, mainly from the lower income groups. Firstly she argues white middle aged men from lower income groups are privileged. Secondly she claims to understand why dead people commit suicide. Yes in 2009 there was an increase because of the house market crashing and all that, but this doesn’t changed the fact that there are enormous disparities. The only sane argument I could find was by Jason Houle, PhD, who articulated in a report published in Sociological Perspectives, “we often think of suicide as an individual act, but the social and physical environment is really an important determinant of suicide.” So the old saying goes;” kick a dog enough times and he will bite you.” We live in a society where it’s a sin to be a white male. We have all these rules and laws telling us that we are bad and need to suffer because of what happened years ago. This statistic speaks to white males aged 35 to 65. The only correlation or closest match I can find is girls aged 15 to 19. According to the educated girls commit suicide because of peer pressure and a feeling of exclusion. So the reason for the one group is because they are victims of society and the other group is because they are privileged. The LBGTQ community and the rest of the SJW’s are in uproar because of a high rate of attempted suicides by this minority group, but no one says anything about the crisis around white male suicides.
