A Year in Review: Minds Subscribers Analytics for Selected Largest Highly Visible Minds Channels
In 2018, Minds witnessed a bit of a dichotomy. There have been trending channels that have a lot of views but not a lot of subscribers. There are channels with a lot of subscribers but with fewer views on Minds than some of those top trending channels with lower subscriber counts.
Also this year, Minds.com witnessed its first profile channel with over 100,000 subscribers, Carl Benjamin (@Sargon_of_Akkad). Moreover, several of the largest Minds channels by subscribers have enjoyed rapid subscription increases by percentage, such as InfoWars, Paul Joseph Watson, Tim Pool, Fretz Capo, Minura, Blaire White, TL;DR, Dave Rubin, VonYugen, Dave Cullen, Stefan Molyneux, Bearing, Milica42, Luculent, and Minds co-founders John and Bill Ottman.
All of the data below that refers to 2018 is from early September 2018. The comparisons being made between 2017 and 2018 are between early September of those respective years, the difference in measurements being about 370 days.

We can see from this that view count for trending channels can (and for some indeed does) surpass that of channels that have a large subscriber base yet not trend as highly. The large subscriber count for some channels likely comes in large part from the audience that they have or have had on other platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.
In this article, we will compare the early September 2017 figures for subscribers to the early September 2018 figures. This will give us an indicator for how much subscriber growth the top channels on Minds are getting. Only the top twenty will be listed in the order of 2018 subscriber count.
The percentage difference will be calculated in terms of the preceding year’s numbers and will include one place after the decimal point (e.g., 0.9% rather than 1%).

We will also list the view count by nearest hundred thousand, but put in terms of millions (e.g., 0.3 million instead of 300,000).

It is also worth noting that since the massive influx of Vietnamese users to the site in the summer of 2018, there are some high subscriber Vietnamese accounts now, such as @nhacsituankhanh, with more than 25,000 subscribers, @Nguyenlanthang with more than 20,000 subscribers, @nguyenvanhaidieucay, with more than 19,000 subscribers, and both @hocgia and @NgocVu73, with more than 13,000 subscribers. There’s also accounts that have newly breached the 10,000 subscribers amount in the past year, like @anonofficialdotcom with over 16,000 subscribers.
In September 2017, we could describe the largest subscribed-to channels on Minds as those with at least 10,000 subscribers. A year later, those who have at least 14,000 subscribers would fit that depiction and would clearly be in the top 1% of subscribed-to channels on Minds.
It is difficult as a typical user to gauge and rank the various users by Minds view count. However, the million-view mark remains as at least a somewhat significant milestone. Typically speaking, as of 2018, most Minds accounts have fewer than one million views. The most impactful, most visible users on Minds have had at least five million views by now, however.
Out of those who were in the top 90 Minds channels by subscribers in 2017 and have not deactivated their channels, the average increase in Minds subscribers for the past year has been 8.9% (eight point nine percent).
In large part due to the influx from southeast Asia that occurred in 2018, those most active channels in 2018 which had smaller subscriber counts in 2017 grew in subscription numbers at a much faster pace in 2018 than even the top 90 channels of 2017. Some of those smaller 2017-subscriber-count-channels grew in subscriber count by more than 50% in the past year.
Many of those Minds channels who were less active in boosting content over the past year had lower rates of increase in subscriptions. Given the censorship of InfoWars and its staff on other online platforms, some of the growth from Paul Joseph Watson and InfoWars accounts here on Minds could be the result of the Streisand Effect or of fans of theirs from other platforms migrating to Minds.
