Its now Xmas time and Microsoft are showcasing what new selection of games it pushes to its users. Will there be a big hitter in there before new year?, let's find out!
The first one is an unknown for me, its Q.U.B.E. 2.
You play as Amelia Cross, an archaeologist who has awoken among the ruins of an alien landscape. With the distant help of another survivor you must manipulate the structure of this mysterious world and find a way back home. As you explore and solve puzzles to progress, thought-provoking questions about your true purpose and the origins of the structure you are navigating will need to be considered, forcing you to come to terms with a devastating truth that will shake your world. It has four and half stars on Microsoft's own review board, so this may be a good hitter.
Next is Dragon Age 2, and if you haven't played this game and know its issues...well I don't know what to say.
The sequel was an absolute mess when it landed, and is widely criticised for its poor story and mundane missions. You are one of the few who escaped the destruction of your home. Now, forced to fight for survival in an ever-changing world, you must gather the deadliest of allies, amass fame and fortune, and seal your place in history. This is the story of how the world changed forever.
Now Never Alone, which had a large interest due to its amazing visuals and high stylised storyline. It was seen as a great game with an deep story which kept you hooked till the end.
Built in partnership with the Alaska Native community, Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) delves deeply into the traditional lore of the Iñupiat people of the Arctic to present a game experience like no other..
And finally, we have Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. A game that I did sink in some large amount of time into and one I can recommend if you have not played it. This epic game sets the world on fire, literally and keeps you coming back for more mayhem.
You are a lethal Mercenary. Your mission is to topple a sinister military regime by any means necessary. If it drives or flies, you can hijack it. If it shoots or explodes, you can use it as a weapon. You are free to go anywhere, destroy anything and blow the crap out of everything. In this playground of destruction, there are no limits, no barriers and no mercy.
Overall, this months selection is a mixed bag, as we have some cracking titles but also some truly awful ones. Overall a meh...from me, lets hope 2019 starts off with a bang!.
