I have a new book to review here guys, Zener: Master of the Mind issue #0. This book is the newest title series from NRG Comics™. NRG seems to be a small company, but it does seem to know the basics of creating a good book. So, let me get into this book here. I do feel the need to preface this review by pointing out some things about how this was produced. This was written by Alex Dowe edited by Web Bleynat and Drawn and lettered by Juan Paolo Mananita. That’s three people, so going in you will need to have that in mind to appreciate this work. I guess that Juan was also in charge of colors too.

So let us take a good look at this book. I do say that I enjoyed that there were at least a few twists within this one issue. A hard thing to do in a 20 page book. I enjoyed the dialogue that feels pretty natural. Now with only one art guy on this book you can expect that the art is not that stellar, but there are no major mistakes and the panel layout is easy to follow. I would have liked to see something a little more dynamic with the lettering. I really like the color palette. It has good action and pacing.

As for a starting issue, it does a good job of sparking interest in the series, but it really does give away too many details about where the story is going. If you are a fan of small published superhero stories this could easily become something in the future.
