So you say you only trust Dr. Fauci? Well then, here you go, from the horses mouth:
July 16, 2020, podcast, “This Week in Virology”: Tony Fauci makes a point of saying the PCR COVID test is useless and misleading when the test is run at “35 cycles or higher.” A positive result, indicating infection, cannot be accepted or believed.

I can attest to that, as I was at one point, an expert on doing rt-PCR. I even invented an artificial gene construction protocol using PCR.
What Dr. Fauci leaves out is the fact that the FDA, which authorizes the test for public use, recommends the test should be run up to 40 cycles. Not 35.
Why is this important? I will explain:
Every cycle in a PCR is a logarithmic expansion of part of the sample - it's used in order to amplify a particular sequence using snippets of DNA called "primers" that set down on the DNA in the sample IF the sample contains a matching site for the primers. If it does the sample is doubled each cycle. In these special PCR tests, the use labeled nucleotides that get added in IF the primer finds a site and sits down on it (matches it), this labeling allows the sample to be seen if it gets incorporated - this is a nearly identical process to what did when I managed Corixa's DNA sequencing lab.
BUT, with each cycle errors are made - even if there is no specific target, the primer can partially sit down on some bit of random human, bacteria, or non-covid viral DNA in the sample, creating a partial amplification of unrelated DNA. When the test is run with a limited number of cycles these amplified errors, the signal given off from the incorporated labels is tiny and rarely contributes to a false positive. However when run for just a few more cycles (because the process is logarithmic and you are doubling the sample each time), the false positive rate also goes exponential - i.e. if you ran this for 45+ cycles, then EVERY sample would show as positive.
So the FDA, which obviously has plenty of experts on PCR [many of whom I am sure are upset about how this test is being managed, but who probably can't speak out publicly without losing their jobs], is DELIBERATELY manipulating the test to create a panic. Why would they do this? Many reasons, too long to list here and I leave that for you to think about.
