It's concerning that I even have to make this quick disclaimer before I give you my thoughts on the George Flloyd situation, but here we go. I by no means am anti-cop or a "cop hater." I love the police and what the police departments across the country stand for, but I can also see when things have gone awry. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
With that said, I had a tough time writing this. I thought of making a video, but I couldn't, my eyes swelled up each time.

No matter what happened leading up to George Flloyd's death, he didn't deserve to get a knee to the neck as he did until he suffocated, or his body shutdown. I’m a reasonable person, open-minded, but I doubt there’s anything you can show me that justifies his death.
And you are probably with me so far, and if you don’t know yet, it wasn’t just one knee. It wasn’t just one officer. It was THREE of them.
Three, full-grown men digging their knees into an unarmed, defenseless, and restrained man. Pleading for his life, begging for relief.
why. why? WHY!?
Because he resisted arrest? Because he had a rap sheet? Because he was mouthing off?
He was already subdued, in cuffs. He could have been a career criminal, a felon, a violent offender, he could have even fought the cops just moments before.
But he was under control. The cops had won. In one video, you can see the Chauvin's hand in his pocket, with a nonchalant attitude. He’s not struggling to keep George down. George isn’t kicking or fighting. The cop even seems to enjoy it. In another video, you see THREE cops killing George, slowly. A gang of ego-tripping thugs with badges, surrounded by the other gang members. Some call them blue ISIS.
Maybe Ice Cube is right.
Fuck a black and white when they ain't actin' right
Good cop, good cop filling out your report
Bad cop asking you to distort
Bad cop asking you to lie in court
I hope the riots do not distract, diminish, or damage this case. We need the judicial system to take it on and trust that justice will be served and reform will happen. This is getting a lot of attention, but it has been happening for years. Was it racial? It appears to be so. But the problem is really bigger than race, it’s a power issue.
The police have been abusing their power for decades, they act as judge, jury, and in this case, executioners. THAT is what needs to stop. We need to demilitarize the police, they need to stop treating citizens like enemies in a war zone and they need to be strongly reminded that they are public servants.
WE pay for their salary. WE pay for them to serve US, but often, and seemingly more frequently each day, they seem to forget and even ignore that. Often protecting their own, and abusing us, trampling our basic human rights and dignity.
I hope that the hand of the law comes down on that cop and all others on the scene. Then I hope it goes up the chain of command. This goes up to Amy Klobuchar. Corruption at the highest levels.
I really wonder...
Good cop, good cop, where is your dignity?
Where's your empathy? Where is your sympathy?
Bad cop, where's your humanity?
Good cop, is that just a fantasy?
Hell on that nigga, snitch on that bitch
Truth be told, mothafuck the blue code.
