The new layout can be a shocker to many, with many complaints and questions. Although we may not like the new layout we have made this new little guide for users that may be having issues with navigating the new layout.
Once we had a post box, but you will no longer see this, in its place is a “plus” symbol located at the top right of your page.
On clicking this you will be taken to a posting area where you can upload images, videos, enter text and do all the other things you could with the old post box.
On the top right corner you will see where you can create a blog, the middle area is you posting text or title for your image. At the bottom of the post box you will see “Upload,” “NSFW”, “Monetize”, “Tags”, and “Post”
Upload: Allows a user to upload an image or video to the network
NSFW: Allows the user to mark the post as “explict”
Monetize: Allows the user to enable a paywall for the post in Minds tokens or USD.
Nothing new with notifications that I can really make note of, this is the “bell icon” and you will get alerts from users liking, subscribing, commenting and other network functions here.
The user avatar is now brings up a menu display allowing users to go back to the users channel, upgrade to pro, buy tokens, turn off dark/light mode, access the boost console, go to the “Help Desk”, Logout out of the account, access canary mode (future updates), access the referral panel, as well as provides links to the Minds content policy, mobile app download (from Minds), get Minds merchandise, see any Minds job listings, access Minds status page, view Minds terms & privacy policy as well as provide contact information for Minds.
The left side panel is pretty self explanatory and allows users access back to the users channel via avatar, the Minds newsfeed, Minds discovery, the users wallet (where tokens are held), analytics (that tells users the traffic on posts) and settings where you can find your account settings like password and display name along with many other options for your account.
Size group posts by using the top right arrow (old conversations tab)
Flip your phone to access messenger.
Open vidoes in a new tab to paly them
You can't access conversations on mobile web!? (sorry complain in support)
Blog support is near nothing on mobile, use desktop.
Up to 70% of web traffic happens on a mobile device (CIODive, 2018)
57% of all U.S. online traffic now comes from smartphones and tablets (BrightEdge, 2017)
Hope this helps someone navagaite this "new layout" plase feel free to drop any related question or comments to this blog, if you feel like complaining please use the blog below thanks :)
