Welcome back to another fun blog, it has been awhile you could say some time has past from our last fun blog. If you're new to our fun blogs you can find them linked at the bottom of this one if you enjoyed it you'll probably like some of the other ones.
Our fun blogs are a way to step back from all the hard work we do like maintaining our community website, building a creator based community ecosystem, and all that jazz.
This blog we're exploring time travel, well not all of time travel and no not the game "The edge of time". But some random thoughts I have about time travel itself I call "The edge of time".
I was thinking about time travel, don't ask why I just was... anyways I realized most time travel theories have one downfall...time travelers, let me explain. One of the issues of time travel itself is where are the time travelers now if time travel is to ever to come into existence in the future surely we would have run into one today.
To answer this question, my thought is no future exists, only the past and present, and as in the present we haven't created a time machine the first time explorer hasn't been sent out. This stops the enviable loop of where are time travelers if time travel exits in the future and keeps hope of creating a time machine in the present.
Now this would seem like the end of line with nothing more to discuss. However I wanted to go into ways time travel could be possible in the future and the most likely situations of time travel if ever to be possible. I also fell short on a few philosophical questions on time traveling myself while lost in thought.
Ways It could be possible
- If we are indeed on the edge of time and we haven't yet created a future timeline the possibility for time travel is still possible although very unlikely with concepts such as:
- Wormholes
Holes in time/space that link to other space/time.
- Infinite Dust
Space/Time is contained of infinite dust particles that loop through space/time. This implies a looped version of every moment in time that could possibly be accessed in some way.
- Black-holes/Gravity Distortion
The study of black-holes show that the gravitational distortion of the surrounding also distorts time. This implies that we could slow time down in one area while others are at full capacity.
These of course are probably the more well known ideas and concepts of how time travel could be possible, but definitely interesting when put into a edge of time perspective.
Philosophical Questions
I also ran into questions myself and thought I would list some of them here for some fun.
- Does time travel cost time?
If we are to travel through time, how much time are we consuming doing so?
- Can we do anything?
If we were to travel through time how would we know if we accomplished anything if we could even interact?
- How would you identify a time traveler?
If you had to identify a time traveler what would you look for?
