There is a major difference between White Nationalism and White supremacy. White Supremacy makes the claim that white people are inherently genetically superior to other races. White Nationalism does not imply such a claim.
A white supremacist believes that a person is superior to other races based solely upon one’s ethnicity. These people often try to point to studies which they believe shows white people are genetically superior to other races. This type of ideology is what most people would consider to be hateful.
A white nationalist believes in preserving the white race and white western culture in western countries. This is by no means a hateful way of viewing the world. Many people would hope to preserve the cultures and ethnicities in other countries as well. One does not consider the Japanese to be hateful for wanting to preserve their culture and ethnicity. Neither does one consider Mexicans to be hateful for securing their southern border to preserve their identity from other countries.
There is nothing inherently hateful about wishing to preserve one’s own ethnicity and culture. It is considered socially acceptable for every other ethnicity and culture to be celebrated unless that person happens to be white. If one happens to be white and feels any type of pride or affinity towards his people and culture, people are quick to label him as a racist or a white supremacist. This labeling is completely dishonest and is an attempt to shame such a person for simply feeling prideful of his heritage and wishing for its continuation.
