Okay for those who didn't figure it out I am a female gamer. I mostly enjoy RPGs but there is a time now and again where I really love to blow heads off in shooter games as well. When I've had a hard day or just need to blow off some steam I play COD or Battlefield. I am not very good at it but I still have lots of fun playing them. There's also WWE games, my favorite was WWE 2K14. The controls weren't too bad and I had fun with my husband and our friends on Xbox 360 before Xbox One and PS4.
Here's how I feel about shooters that come out annually.
1. I have to start from level 1 and work my way up again.
2. The maps I was used to are no longer there (exception: COD Black Ops NukeTown variants. Same map different textures.)
3. Sometimes the mechanics are different so I have to re-figure everything out.
4. Last but not least, by the time I am used to the game and have finally got good they release a new one.
Now here's the problems I have with WWE games that come out annually.
1. I have to remake my characters all over again in each one I play.
2. The next game never has the stuff I used in the last game to make my characters. I have to figure out what else to use and it just never looks right. Either the same people who put stuff out on community creations didn't get the game, moved to another console and uploaded it there, or just didn't want to reupload the stuff to a new game.
3. The controls change drastically through some of the games. I hate getting used to one way of doing stuff on a game in a franchise just for everything to get changed up and then I have to figure it all out while getting my behind kicked.
4. They don't have some of my favorite superstars in the new one that they had in the last one.
I have some ideas that could make things smoother and easier for everyone. First being that instead of creating a completely new game they should just update the existing game such as with wrestling with new features, superstars, and game modes instead of coming out with a new game every year. If it's about money, have it as DLC instead of an update. Same with all the sports games and shooters. If it's the story in the COD or Battlefield games, add the stories as DLC. If it's too large for DLC then sure make a new game.
Another idea is to come out with them every 3 to five years instead of year after year. This would make it easier for stories to develop correctly and fully. It would give developers and creators time to fix any bugs, correct any flaws the game may have instead of having to put out so many updates right after release. An example of this is of course Fallout 76 even though it's not an annual game franchise this applies to having so many updates after launch.
In conclusion, I do believe this will help out a lot of frustrated gamers and people who actually make the games.
