Detroit Become Human A Good Example Of A Well Made Game

Now I am always up for a great story, good graphics, and not have to deal with interruptions. When it's incorporated into a game and I can control how the story ends? It makes it that much better. Detroit: Become Human does just that. You take control of three different characters spanning through out the game. Connor, Markus, and Kara. These three Cyberlife androids captured my attention from the start of each of their stories until the end, whether the ending was good or bad, I was captivated. There are not many such games around anymore. Which makes this one that much more special to me. So game developers listen up!

Here are some great ways to improve games in this day and age.

1. Don't rush the story process. This is a sure way to make consumers of your games give a bad review and not enjoy it as much. Most gamers, especially Youtubers, prefer a great story they can then share with their viewers. So if your story is rushed? That leaves a lot to be desired in the gameplay as well. Graphics to me, are great and all but the story is what captures the attention of most. So tell a good story, draw up as much ideas as possible and include the ones that go together the best.

2. Work out as many bugs as possible. This will help make the game more fluid and make it so that players will be able to play as much as they want without some bug interrupting them or glitches, etc. I don't know how many times I stopped playing a game because of how buggy it was. In games like Fallout: New Vegas I go back eventually but it's hard when the bugs come on back. I know after you release the game you can just update it but it's nice to have a good, bug-free, game right out of the package (figuratively and literally.) Fix those bugs and polish the game a bit more before sending it out. If you need to push the release back a bit then so be it, at least the game will work well. Don't be like Fallout 76 when it first came out. It's been out almost a year and they only started making it feel like an actual Fallout game.

3. Do not add micro-transactions. Yeah I'm looking at you EA. I mean for an android game I get it, but for a full fledged game on a PC, XBOX, or Playstation console it's hopping ridiculous! I shouldn't have to pay to win in a game. If I buy the game it better have everything already in it that I just have to unlock during gameplay or with IN-GAME currency. That way I don't have to continue paying for something in a game I own unless it's actual DLC. Like Dragonborn in Skyrim or even the Bank Heist from Thief. Costumes are okay too, but I don't want to have to buy extra health potions in a game just to be able to win it. I should be able to beat a game without having to buy stuff to do so with real life money. That's stupid.

4. Don't include solely SJW content. If you have to make a game specifically for them but don't go destroying an already established franchise with their garbage. I don't mind same sex relationships or interracial stuff. Heck, I don't even mind a prominent woman in my games, just look at BloodRayne, or Tomb Raider. Just don't change an already created male character into a female in another game, unless it's the female Deadpool in part of a Deadpool 2 game. Don't get me wrong seeing a gender swap with some characters in games is cool looking but don't make it the sole goal or dominant thing in the game. Don't go making Mary-Jane or Lois save Spiderman or Superman okay? So no wimping out favorite characters.

These are my opinions on how to make a great game. In these ever worsening days, it would be nice to get a good game that focuses on what made them great ever since video games became good. So to recap, have a good, flushed out, bug free, no drastic changes to great characters (unless they turn evil or good), don't rush it, and stick to the flow of the game. Thanks for reading whether you agree or disagree.
