This is a review of the new Apple Watch Series 4.
I own the very original Apple Watch. I've seen it referred to as Series 0. I pre-ordered the Stainless Steel and received it on the day it was released to the general public.
I've been very happy with it but now was time to upgrade it. In fact, it could no longer be upgraded to the latest software version. It will go to a good home. My oldest son collects watches and this will be my second old watch to be handed down to him.
I've invested a lot (more than the cost of the watch) in numerous watch bands. So I'm very happy that my watch bands fit the new Series 4 although it is 2 mm larger.
I love the larger and much improved display on the new Series 4.
It's so much faster, too, than the original watch.
I finally have a heartbeat monitor (with warnings) which I mistook as blood pressure.
It also has a "fall" feature which will warn emergency contacts if I fall. After all, I'm getting older.
I didn't pre-order it this time. I waited for it to become available in the local Apple store. And I wanted the stainless steel model so it took a long time before supply caught up.
Unfortunately, the stainless steel model includes the cellular service which I didn't really need. My daughter tells me its handy so I'll defer to her. It is an additional $10 per month to my cellular service. But now I don't need my iPhone to make and receive calls.
The Series 4 is a great upgrade to the original Apple Watch and I'm happy I waited to upgrade, skipping all the interim series.
