This is a book review of "America Before" (The Key to Earth's Lost Civilization) by Graham Hancock. I've read 3 of his other books (Fingerprints of the Gods, The Sign and the Seal, and The Mars Mystery), so he is not new to me.
I lend more credence to Graham Hancock's research and theories than most archaeologists. The main reason is that Graham Hancock doesn't have the extreme pressure that archaeologists face to adhere to prevailing views (as wrong as they may be and contrary to what they've discovered) in order not to jeopardize their reputations and livelihoods.
This book is about the very early days of man in America. These very early days are much, much older than are commonly believed by most archaeologists and people who believe them.
Graham and his wife (a photographer) traveled extensively in both North and South America to research this book. They also visited the Denisova Cave in the middle of Siberia. They explored the mounds of North America starting with the Serpent Mound in Ohio. Why are these mounds very similar to other mounds in North America and the Amazon? Why are they based on geometry and astronomy?
Graham explores DNA of the people of North and South America, the Amazon mysteries (including Terra Preta and Ayahuasca), the mystery of death (why do the Egyptians and North Americans very closely mirror the path of the dead through Orion and the Milky Way), and how an apocalypse about 12,800 years ago lasting about 21 years caused by the remnants of a comet which destroyed civilizations and other life abruptly in North America.
Perhaps we are looking for a materialistic advanced civilization like ours and unlike an advanced civilization based on telepathy, remote viewing, telekinesis, and healing powers. The answers may be right before our eyes and we just don't recognize them.
This is another great book by Graham Hancock which causes your mind to explore other possibilities. After all, there is much we don't know.
