FISHMAN'S FISH CHALLENGE

Okay, so this blog is an interactive one inspired by @justmeagain.

The game is on! Post in the comments a picture or pictures of a fish you are interested in, want to know more about or just want to see if I know what it is. I will reply to all the photos with what knowledge I have on that species. If I do not know it, or anything about it, I will find out!

So this is for your benefit, but also for mine. There are many, many species of fish out there I have never heard of, much less seen, so I can learn about new things whilst teaching you about new things. Win, win.

Nanochromis transvestitis female. Unlike most cichlids, the female is more brightly coloured with a stronger pattern than the male. This one is in breeding condition, denoted by the red belly.
