Alfa Romeo returns to Formula 1 as a team sponsor

Alfa Romeo returns to Formula 1 as a title for Sauber, after a 30 break as a team sponsor. This Team will be called Alfa Romeo Sauber F1. Sauber will supply the chassis whilst Alfa Romeo plasters their livery.

This deal is being for Sauber because of their last in the champion and having money problems, whilst Alfa Romeo wants to advertise their cars and apply future technologies to their road cars. Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 will use a Ferrari powerplant.

Sergio Marchionne stated, “The brand itself will benefit from the sharing of technology and strategic know-how with a partner of the Sauber F1 Team’s undisputed experience.”

Alfa Romeo has racing in their bloodstream from racing in the early 19th century, winning the first Formula 1 championship in 1950 and utilising a bolster of racing drivers such as Juan Manuel Fangio and Mario Andretti.

Opinion

Knowing that Sergio Marchionne is backing Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 were going to get decent drivers and lots of money. I reckon this team will be a junior team just like Toro Rosso.

That was half the story let's look at Sauber's story.  Sauber is a Swiss racing team that joined Formula 1 in 1993. In 2005 BMW bought a 20% in Sauber. From 2006-2009 BMW-Sauber got 5th position in 2006, 2nd in 2007, 3rd in 2008 and 6th position 2009.

I predict that the drivers from Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 will be for driver 1, 7th position and driver 2, 10th position in the driver's championship.

Conclusion

Alfa Romeo returns to Formula 1 after a three-decade break. Maybe Sauber will get a break from being last all the time. From my perspective, Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 will start off mid-rear then to mid on the grid. On That Bombshell goodnight!!
