What Purpose Have You Assigned to the Body

A Course in Miracles:

In this world, not even the body is perceived as whole. Its purpose is seen as fragmented into many functions with little or no relationship to each other, so that it appears to be ruled by chaos. Guided by the ego, it is.(T8.VII.9:1)

The Holy Spirit does not see the body as you do, because He knows the only reality of anything is the service it renders God on behalf of the function He [God] gives it. (T8.VII.3:6)

As you let the Holy Spirit teach you how to use the body only for purposes of communication, and renounce its use for separation and attack which the ego sees in it, you will learn you have no need of a body at all (T15.IX.7:2)

Ego says purpose of the body is:

1. Witness to separation and make it real.

2. Project guilt onto.

3. Attack truth.

4. Specialness.

5. To prove you are vulnerable therefore, not the Son of God.

6. Use to break communication.

7. Experience and have grievances.

8. Make special relationships seem real.

9. Something to make all of its stories come to life.

10. Something to experience sickness and death with.

Holy Spirit's purpose for the body:

1. Aid to help us reach the home where God abides.

2. Shepparding tool – tool of communication.

3. To demonstrate oneness by healing.

Body = tool of communication

Healing is Holy Spirit's form of communication in the world.

Therefore, Body = tool of healing

Healing means to make perception holy.

Therefore, Body = tool of making perception holy.
