In the near future, a military family is chosen to participate in a ground-breaking experiment to accelerate man's genetic evolution in order to relocate humanity to another planet.
The Good - I enjoyed the potential this movie had to be interesting and engaging, the cast performance was good, Taylor Schilling's character Abi in particular was portrayed very well.
The Bad - Wasted opportunity, so much potential to be a great story but falls flat, this movie felt like a lengthy cinematic mission briefing mixed with a youtube real estate vlog for the most part.
First up the sparse action scenes are instantly forgettable next the sci fi aspect's of the movie are extensive but ultimately disappointing both because of the order they are explored in the story and how they are revealed ... snore... they promise something to the audience very early in the movie that ended up looking tacked on as an after thought by the end...
if you enjoy the odd Family drama show that mainly feature's marriage problems in the form of personal changes that drive couples apart as it's subject matter with a sci fi theme and sex without an orgasm then this is the movie for you ... again I say the acting cast were very good and the concept's in the story interesting but I would wait for it at bargain price's.
