WHY I DIDN'T GET INTO HEAVEN: ANSWERED BEFORE ASKED

Just a disclaimer, I'm writing this as someone seeing others obliviously heading toward destruction, though they're having a good time and adamantly wish not to be bothered. Would it not be fairly awful to stand by and say nothing rather than warn them and possibly save their lives? I heard it asked, "How much do you have to hate someone not to warn them?" I don't much care to upset people, especially seeing how hostile some are regarding their very purpose of existance, so often I end up waiting for the right way and circumstances to explain it but that usually results in my silently watching them continue on, closer and closer to their impending doom which they are oblivious of or wish not to think about. So... here's your warning:

If you died today, and it turned out there was a heaven and a hell, where do you think you would go? Many people go through their life believing that they're a "good person" and as such, if it actually turns out that there is a God, a perfect loving Creator, He would surely let them into heaven. Let me explain this while you're still alive so you don't find yourself in for a rude awakening when it's too late.

The purpose of life is not pleasure, it is not to do good and to be happy. God didn't create us so that He had people he could make happy, joyous and wealthy. He created us with the purpose to know Him. Not just to know Him but to want to know Him and to choose to know Him. If you go through your life rejecting any sort of knowledge or relationship with God, you will find yourself in for that rude awakening when you discover you're not the "good person" you thought you were. Have you ever lied, ever stolen, ever taken God's name in vain, looked at another with lust or hated anyone? Answering yes to these questions means you are a liar, thief, blasphemer and at heart are an adulterer and murderer. Even one sin brings you under condemnation and don't think you can cover your sins with your good deeds. Can a murderer stand before the judge, tell him about all the people he didn't murder or even people he helped out and think he'll be off the hook for his crime? God is perfectly holy and as such we are called to be perfectly holy. You may think, "By such standards, nobody will get into heaven." Well, that would be correct, which is why it says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" and Romans 6:23 states "For the wages of sin is death". Nobody in the whole history of humanity is sinless... with one exception...

Ecclesiastes 12:14 "For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." Revelation 20:13 "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works." So get this picture, you're on trial and have been found guilty, the judgment is death. Now know this, the judge loves you and though saddened by your sin, still knows you're a "good person". The judge is also a perfectly just judge and therefore cannot let you off without your penalty being paid. Since the judge, who is God, loves you so much He made a way for your sentence to be carried out and also save you. He actually took the form of humanity, in the most sacrificing act imaginable, God actually humbled Himself and became a man, the man Jesus. He then proceeded to take your sin upon Himself along with everyone else's sin and He paid the penalty. God suffered and was put to death for you, to pay your penalty! He actually died for you so that you can live, so that you can have eternal life! Now imagine after God has done this, you refuse to accept it, you deny what God has done and you reject His sacrifice for you. You are now left to pay the penalty yourself, you are guilty and must pay the price of your sin.

So the reality is, all people have sinned, the just punishment is death. God is perfectly just but also greatly loves all people. He became a man, Jesus, and lived a perfectly sinless life on behalf of all mankind. He then took the sins of all humanity upon Himself, suffered, and was put to death in our place. He paid our debt. To receive what Jesus has done we must place our faith in Him, believe and accept what He has done. By repenting, which means to turn away from our sin, He washes us clean and we can stand justified on that day to enter into everlasting life with our Creator and Redeemer. This is our purpose, to know God.

Final thoughts: Please don't fall for the lies, the slander and deceit passed off in the world about the character of God. Some have made it their purpose to defame the name and character of God. The truth is, God is the eternal, personal and infinite being who caused all else to exist and sustains all things in being. He doesn't so much possess all the great characteristics that we seek after as much as these things are His very essence: God is good, pure, just, humble, power, perfect, wisdom, holy, peace, truth, light, great, compassion, etc. God is love. God seeks for those who seek for Him and those who seek shall find. Find your purpose and always remember, God is not so much concerned with the trials you go through as He is with your attitude while going through them.
