Green tyrants: Paul Ehrlich

In 1970, Dr. Ehrlich posed that "The oceans will be as dead as lake Erie in less than a decade"

Just by virtue of Ehrlich being a doctor, you'd think that would allow critics to point out the dishonesty of his claims as surely...being a doctor, he'd know better. Adding to the vindication of critics is also the assumption that being a doctor, chances are he'll be financially sound for life and that should provide the equivalent of reinforced armour for any hurt fee fees them pointing out the stupidity of his claims results in.

Unfortunately (for us all), only the second of these assumptions holds any weight. Because although a large wage packet can equate to physical and emotional comfort, with degrees in gender studies and several doctors talking such, time and again, disproved nonsense, doctor means close to nothing. Which, with the caveat of "except in medical cases" still seems unfair, as some academics and scholars alike, are honest and have made some ground breaking discoveries.

But, thanks to the likes of Dr. Ehrlich and those with companies and government agencies backing them, this is the state we're in.

Now, to be fair and give Ehrlich the benefit of the doubt it might be beneficial if we could investigate into the blackmail big green had over him. Or the time those government agencies that benefit from apocalyptic claims (made in seemingly endless cycles...with no one realising how they NEVER come to fruition) held a gun to his head to get him to state one of his many end of the world due to man made issues and we can only fix this by paying taxes claims.

...Still not found any record of such an instance. I'll keep looking.

But for now let's do what the "climate experts" seem incapable of and work with (not embellish) the evidence we have: Though considered an expert in the field, he has made no endeavour to justify the (many) falsifications of raw data. In his defence he didn't partake in any data botching himself, rather preferring to make bombastic claims. He didn't condemn any in his camp when their interference became public knowledge either.

Did he, in all his doctoral wisdom, provide any alternatives for energy so we could continue as a society, fossil fuel free? Blaming the population boom, so pure numbers of "earth users" he appeared to align with a China-like birth control plan. To any notion of alternate fuels;  "Giving society cheap, abundant energy would be the equivalent of giving an idiot child a machine gun." Not much faith in people. Or projection at its finest.

To give some hope that Ehrlich had any honesty and fortitude...maybe the aforementioned gun to the head incident was factual and it was not big green, but kkk leader Margaret Sanger with her planned parenthood group once holding a gun to his head?

Quite the reverse. Or perhaps cart before horse would be more appropriate? Either way, Ehrlich in his speeches and texts, conflated human beings with trash. Planned Parenthood, in more recent years, now dismembers and then sells the bodies of aborted fetuses, treating discarded life like commodities to be used. Like trash. One point for Sanger for at least founding an organisation that manages to find a means of continuity...at least the continuity of her business, if not the human race.

Before we can confirm Paul Ehrlich as just another piece of trash, let us allow him to take on the second (thousandth) chance saloon, humble hill, turn the corner aurora, climb the come to your senses fences....

Humility points: He failed to do a verbal take down on his false claims, or even offer a revision. Instead he segued into hatred of life itself, comparing humans to insects. ZERO.

Double down deduction: Praise where it's due, he seems a born journalist and was able to switch tact rather than double down. Or admit he was wrong.

Glass house stone thrower: Trash is what he is in his words and action and more apt to himself than anyone he's pointed to. Minus 10.

Redeeming qualities: After a bet with Julian Simon in which he predicted that prices of commodities would increase due to their global warming influenced depletion. He was wrong. Again. And actually paid up on his bet. Unlike his colleagues. Plus 5.

Overall score: -5 overtaking Ben Santer on our don't ever trust ever leader board. One win in a lifetime I guess!
