LED Full Spectrum grow lights are much more energy efficient than there HPS counter parts with an average energy saving from 30%-60% of your total true watt consumption.
This is where LED full Spectrum lights becoming interesting in the science of growing high quality bud, LED Full Spectrum lights should not be measured with a Lux meter to determine the light intensity. LED lights produce white light very differently to incandescent lights. Due to the Full Spectrum wavelength of 380nm-780nm some of these wavelength are not accurately represented when using a Lux meter.
We suggest to Measure your LED Full spectrum Lights using a PAR meter as we have found this is much more reliable way to measure your LED full spectrum grow lights. Photo-synthetically active radiation or PAR for short, designates the spectral range wave band of solar radiation from 380nm to 780 nano-meters that photosynthetic organisms are able to use in the process of photosynthesis. This spectral region corresponds more or less with the range of light visible to the human eye.
LED Full Spectrum Lights have a higher level of direct light intensity but provide less coverage per square meter than there HPS light counter parts.
Our plants that were flowered under LED Full spectrum lights tended to have higher Levels of THC due to the direct intensity of the LED Full Spectrum lights and the ultraviolet wave lengths. The Cannabis plant will produce higher amounts of trichomes to shade it self from the UV light. You can also increase trichomes and terpenes production using advance low stress growing techniques.
LED Full Spectrum light produce less heat in your grow room than HPS lights, this will help you better balance the temperature of your grow space ensure happy healthy plants.
We did notice when vegging cannabis plants under LED Full spectrum light that the plants would have thinner fan leaves, stocks and branches. This could be a issue for growers when the buds reach a size that the plant cannot support anymore leading to broken branches if not properly managed. To address this issue when growing we recommend you to veg your plants under fluorescent lights that produces 40,000 lumens for maximum vegging growth the plants will have thicker stocks, leafs and supporting branches before you move it into your flowering room to get those massive buds.
