Ukrainian Revolution: Independence Square In Kiev BEFORE AND AFTER

Independence Square central Kiev is in the aftermath of massive uprisings in Ukraine. 26 people died just in the last 2 days.

"On 27 January 2014, Ukrainian police reported a 55-year-old man found dead hanging from the framework of a huge artificial 'New Year tree' in central Kiev, which has become a symbol of anti-government resistance. The body was found hanging inside the cone-shaped tubular steel construction on Kiev's Independence Square. There is a poster of opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko attacking President Viktor Yanukovich on the 'tree'. The square had been covered in protesters all day and night since 1 December.^{[18][19][20]" Source}

Business Insider says, "Protesters have been camped out since December, defending Maidan against Russian-backed riot police and security forces loyal to Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych."
